Jamais encore je n'avais vu des eaux couleur d'arc-en-ciel, de feu d'artifice, issues tout droit de l'imagination d'un peintre fou, ou de la palette de Gauguin.
Eaux couleurs de bronze, de cuivre, d'or, d'argent, de nacre, de perles, de lait, de jade, d'émeraude, de clair de lune, d'aurores polaires. Les étoiles elles-même y étaient tombées, scintillant de tous leurs feux à la surface du lagon, en plein soleil...
Lorsqu'enfin les roues de l'avion se posent en douceur sur la piste raboteuse, j'écris, malgré les cahots, dans mon journal de route: "Nulle part ailleurs au monde..."
